PRC Registration Schedule for November 2008 Nursing Board Exam Passers

The registration for those who passed the November 2008 Nursing Board Exam will start on March 2, 2009.

To register, new nurses are advised to follow the registration schedule provided by the Professional Regulation Commission and register with the PRC office nearest where they took the November 2008 Nursing Board Exam.

The June 2009 Nursing Board Exam is scheduled on June 7 & 8, Sunday and Monday.(Click here for the updated June 2009 Nursing Board Exam Schedule) Furthermore, nursing graduates who intend to take the June 2009 Nursing Board Exam are reminded that the deadline for filing of apllications is on April 17, 2009.

Oathtaking Schedule for November 2008 Nurse Licensure Examination Passers

For November 2008 Nurse Licensure Examination Passers and previous passers (who haven't taken their Oath of Professional yet) who plan to attend the Oathtaking Ceremony in Manila, Check out the oathtaking schedule and other details below.

  • Schedule: Monday and Tuesday, April 6 & 7, 2009; Morning sessions (8:00 am).Afternoon sessions (1:00 pm)
  • Venue: SMX Convention Center, SM Mall of Asia, Pasay City
  • Attire: white gala uniform, white duty shoes, nurses' cap (females), without earrings, hair not touching the collar, and without corsage.

Tickets to the Oathtaking Ceremony for NCR and nearby provinces will be available at the Philippine Nurses Association (PNA) office at 1663 F.T. Benitez St., Malate, Manila on March 2, 2009.

November 2008 Nurse Licensure Examination Passers should personally file his/her application for registration at the nearest Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) office and affix his/her signature in the Roster of Registered Professionals.

Requirements:
  • Duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal
  • Current Community Tax Certificate (cedula)
  • 2 pcs. passport size pictures (colored with white background and complete name tag)
  • 1 pc. 1" x 1" picture (colored with white background and complete name tag)
  • Two sets of metered documentary stamps
  • 1 short brown envelope with name and profession
  • Fees: Initial Registration fee (PhP600) and Annual Registration fee for 2009-2012 (PhP450)

And finally, the Professional Regulation Commission released the November 2008 Nursing Board Exam Results. Forty-one percent (41%) of the 88, 649 examinees successfully hurdled the nursing board exam held last November.

Ward Class and Pinoy R.N. are in the process of uploading the nursing board exam results. The list of passers will be available ASAP.

New Downloads for Nursing Students

I wish that this blog entry finally includes a download link of the much sought-after November 2008 Nursing Board Exam Results but sadly, the nurse licensure examination results aren't out yet.

I really wanted to start my week right by coming up with a fresh post for Ward Class' readers that I thought of coming up with a batch of nursing downloads. I wanted to keep it light, hence this bunch of nice-to-knows compiled in a set of nifty dermatology cramsheets (download links below). Cramsheets and review notes, IMHO, help fill the gap and provide that much-needed security blanket when studying or reviewing. However, I would like to emphasize that for difficult nursing concepts, nothing beats reading a good reference book.

I know you are itching to get your hands on the latest update on the November 2008 Nursing Board Exam Results but for this blog entry, I want to inform those who are concerned that the PRC-BON OR/DR/Cord Care Forms are now available for download.

For those who will be using the OR/DR/Cord Care Forms, it will be wise to download all six (6) pages and be sure to read the general instructions on the use of the said forms. Anyway, the file size is just 90 KB so it won't hurt your disk space.

PRC-Board of Nursing Advisory on OR/DR/Cord Care Requirement

Lyle of Pinoy R.N. emailed me a copy of the advisory issued by the PRC-Board of Nursing on the OR/DR/Cord Care requirement in the filing of application for the Nurse Licensure Examination.

If my memory serves me right, a good friend who is enrolled in nursing school asked me if it's true that the number of required OR/DR/Cord Care cases has been reduced from five (5) to three (3) as announced by the college she attends. I remember telling her that until the PRC-Board of Nursing issues an advisory on the matter, it is best to take everything with a grain of salt.

Having read the document, I want to emphasize that the PRC-Board of Nursing Advisory basically tells us four things:
  • The PRC-BON has not announced any changes in the prevailing requirement of OR/DR/Cord Care cases.
  • Any new promulgations or changes in policy will NEVER be applied to graduating students.
  • In the event that a change in policy will be announced, those who will be affected will be graduates of 2011 and 2012.
  • Those who will be taking the 2009-2010 Nurse Licensure Examination will follow the prescribed five (5) cases each for the OR/DR/Cord Care requirement.
