CGFNS Update: English Exam Waived for Certain VisaScreen® Renewal Applicants
In this month's newsletter, the CGFNS advises that VisaScreen® renewal applicants may be exempt from taking another approved English exam for renewal of their VisaScreen provided the following requirements are met:
- The applicant can demonstrate employment in the Unites States in the health care profession that is designated on their International Commission on Healthcare Professions VisaScreen Certificate.
- The period of employment must be for at least 27-36 months-- including nine months of the year before the date an applicant submits the VisaScreen® renewal application.
- The applicant's employer submits an employment summary, with the said document on corporate letterhead with the appropriate signature.
This policy change took effect on March 1, 2010.
