Review Tips for the July 2010 Nursing Board Exam

In approximately 18 days, thousands of candidates will take the July 2010 Nurse Licensure Examination (NLE).

By now, candidates to the July 2010 Nursing Board Exam are intensifying their review in preparation for the 2-day, 5-part examination that will take place on July 3 & 4, 2010.

But how does one go over all the topics covered during four years of nursing school in just a couple of months? The task may seem daunting but yes, it is doable. If you will be taking the nursing board examination this July, here's how:

Remember the Scope of the Nurse Licensure Examination. We have published a document here entitled the Scope of the Nurse Licensure Examination which is a guide to what will be covered during the July 2010 Nurse Licensure Examination. It bears a description of the different parts of the Nurse Licensure Examination, giving you an idea on the types of questions to expect during the nursing board exam. The Scope of Nurse Licensure Examination also includes a specific list of topics included in each of the 5 subtests.

Learn to prioritize. Three weeks is not much time. You cannot randomly choose the topics you review on a particular day. To be able to maximize your time, create a schedule so that you get to cover/review on everything that needs to be covered. having a schedule is also a great way to track your progress. Furthermore, you need to prioritize by focusing more on the topics you haven't fully mastered yet and just go over the ones you already know by heart.

Nutrition, Hydration, and Relaxation. No matter how engrossed you are in your review, never ever forsake your body. Nourish yourself with food that improves cognitive functioning, hence, the very logical food choices are the ones packed with vitamins and antioxidants (e.g. fruits, vegetables, whole wheat crackers, tuna). Next, consume at least 8 tall glasses of water daily to ensure adequate hydration. Finally, have ample rest and sleep between study periods for proper brain functioning.

Reviewing for the July 2010 Nursing Board Exam may be very challenging but in order to succeed, you must believe that you will pass the nursing boards because you are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills.
